Are your services covered under Insurance?

Psychotherapy services are not covered under OHIP. If you have additional extended health benefits (ex. through your employer) then please research if Psychotherapy is covered under your plan. If not, then you can check if Psychological services are covered as I do work as an associate of a Psychologist within a supervision model.

What does it mean that you trained in Spiritual Psychotherapy? Does that mean this involves religion?

In my work I offer my clients space to reflect upon THEIR definition of spirituality. This means different things for different clients, so together we discuss what you are comfortable with. This can include a religion that you are currently practicing or might be interested in exploring AND it can completely exclude religion.

As I bring spiritual concepts into our work together, I do so first with your permission. And then it might be concepts such as compassion and gratitude - really just things that most folks consider to be elements of living a kind lifestyle.

How often should I be coming to therapy and how many sessions will I need?

Psychotherapy is an ongoing process with the eventual goal of helping you live the life that feels best for you.

If you are new to therapy I recommend that you come for therapy sessions once every week as we start our work. As we progress, then we discuss changing the frequency to once every two or three weeks to give you time to work with the ideas and concepts we discuss in session.

We work together until you feel complete within your movement towards your therapeutic goals. For some people this is 10 sessions, for others, therapy becomes a life-long way to have support and practice self-care (these folks might be coming only a few times per year).

What kinds of clients do you see?

I offer individual therapy to adults. I work mainly with individuals to assist them in:

  • Building deeper connections with others
  • Enhancing their emotional expression
  • Discovering their unique spiritual journey
  • Enjoying greater vitality and passion
  • Supporting life transitions
  • Creating and strengthening mind-body connection
  • Healing trauma through holistic (whole body) approaches

What are your hours?

I now only offer online/telephone appointments to all clients.

I usually offer sessions on Tuesday's between the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm (last session booked at 4:30pm), Wednesday's between the hours of 11am-5:30pm, and Thursday's between the hours of 8:30am-1pm.

I currently do not offer evening or weekend appointments to new clients.

Do you offer online therapy?

I sure do! I offer online video sessions for therapy, during my regular business hours (see above). Simply schedule an online session into my calendar or send me an email.

I send you a link to the online platform just before our session and then you need access to high speed internet.

Can I complete our session while in my car?

Sessions cannot occur while you are driving your car.

If your car is parked for the entirety of our session then you're welcome to complete our session in the car (I understand how finding a private space for our session may be challenging!).

How do you accept payment for your services?

I accept pre-arranged Interac E-transfer, Visa, and Mastercard. My online booking software allows clients to securely store their credit card information which can be billed each session. If you would like to utilize this option then please bring this credit card to your first session or you can enter the details yourself into your client profile when completing your intake and consent forms.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice you will be billed for the entire session amount; unless the following situations have occurred - the weather has created unsafe conditions for you to travel to your scheduled session and if you, or someone you provide care to, has become unexpectedly ill. We will review this policy during your first session.
